Accessing the P and H drives on EKMD from home

Direct access without installation

You can access the drives through the Rumba service directly in your browser. http://rumba.huji.ac.il

After connecting with your RA account, students and academic faculty will have access to the farm computers through Myplace. Log in with your EKMD account and you’ll have access to programs installed on the public computers as well as your P and H drives.

Mapping the drives on your home computer

Additionally, you can map the drives to your personal computer by hand. For this you’ll also need to connect to Rumba in your browser http://rumba.huji.ac.il with your RA account.

This time, after connecting successfully, you’ll need to install (the first time) and work with the VPN Client

Instructions for mapping the new H drive on your computer

(This is relevant only for those who have undergone the transfer to the new H drive. All accounts are being transferred gradually; you belong to this group if you received an email from the Ein Karem IT dept. The accounts of most BA students and administrative staff have been transferred, the rest will be completed in the coming months with an email being sent a week in advance)

First you need to log in to Rumba VPN (with either an OTP card or an SMS one time code)

If you’ve never used the Rumba client before, download the client, and activate it. If you’ve used the client in the past, you just need to run it.

The mapping only works while the Rumba client is active.

Go to “This PC” (number 1 in the picture) and click on “map network drive” (No. 2 in the picture)

If you already mapped your H drive in the past, select “disconnect the H drive” If this is your first time go to the next stage.

Select “map network drive” (number 3 in the picture)

h drive

After the window opens, select the H drive (number 1 in the picture)

In stage 2 enter the address of the drive with your username in the following format:

 \\vscifs.cc.huji.ac.il\ekhomesl2\your username

And select “Reconnect at sign-in” (number 3)

After that, you’ll be asked to sign in to your user with the format username@ekmd

Click “finish”

Now any time you want to access your H drive you simply need to log into Rumba as above, activate the client, and work on your H drive as usual. (There’s a possibility you’ll need to reenter your username periodically, again it will be in the format username@ekmd)
