MATLAB R2018b Standalone for Linux

NOTES:

  • MATLAB installation requires typically hard drive space of 4000 to 6000MB
  • Supported Systems: Ubunto 14.04 LTS, 16.04 LTS and 18.4, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 and above and 7.3 and above, SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop15 and 12 (sp2 and above), Debian 8.x, 9.x
  • 32 bit systems are not supported
  • Prior to installation please make sure you have received an email message from MathWorks with your email address and MathWorks password

 

Step 1

Press the down arrow

intall

Step 3

Click on R2018b

install

Step 4

Click on Linux (64-bit)

install

Download installation file

Step 6

Open with Archive Manager and extract the files

Step 7

 

  • Right click within the window you chose to extract the files to and choose Open in Terminal.
  • Enter the following commands:
    • sudo mkdir /opt/matlab
    • sudo ./install

Step 8

  • Mark Log in with a MathWorks Account.

  • Click Next

  • Mark Yes

  • Click Next

Step 10

Enter your Email Address and the password provided by MathWorks

  • Mark Select a license
     
  • Click Next

  • Enter the installation folder. It should be /opt/matlab 
     
  • Click Next

  • Choose products you wish to install
  • Click Next

  • Mark Create symobolic links to MATLAB scripts In:
  • Enter the path  /usr/local/bin 
  • Click Next

Click Install

  • Check Active MATLAB

  • Click Next

Launch MATLAB by typing matlab in a terminal window
