As of December 2025 MathWorks will no longer support the use of network licensing on individual computers. To switch the licensing type  from network to individual you can:

Option 1

Go to your license file directory and delete the license file, network.lic.  The default license file directories are located:

Windows — C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R20XXy\licenses 

Linux and macOS — /usr/local/MATLAB/R20XXy/licenses  

Download the new license file and extract the contents to the license file directory.

Alternatively you can reinstall MatLab using the following instructions: Install MatLab using an individual license
